Are you a first time buyer struggling to purchase a home?

Help 2 Own is a low cost home ownership scheme which enables people currently priced out of the housing market to get their foot on the property ladder.

The scheme is administered by Torfaen Council and has been developed in conjunction with Melin Homes and Fairlake properties. 

Designated new build properties on the private market are made available to eligible people via a housing association at a discounted rate, which means that a potential purchaser only needs to contribute a certain percentage of the total sale cost (typically 70%).

Kirsty and Michael have recently been succesful in acquiring a property with the help of the scheme:
