Information - Advice Agencies
Aelwyd Housing AssociationAelwyd is a Charitable, Christian Housing Association providing rented homes for people in housing need. Currently all of its housing stock is situated in South Wales, and the vast majority of the units are flats for the elderly.
Aelwyd works closely with the local Churches and communities in providing a good quality service to some 300 tenants. The work of the Housing Association is directed and overseen by a voluntary Board of Management, who are actively involved in strategic and policy decisions, and responsible for monitoring the performance of the Association.
Age Connects TorfaenWe aim to reduce poverty, loneliness and isolation by providing information, activities and increasing independence of the service user. We are continually looking at new and innovative ways of working. We continually seek opportunities to expand the range of services offered to older people and their carers.
Age Concern Torfaen is a member of the Age Concern South East Wales Regional Group. Working jointly with Age Concern Gwent, Age Concern Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and Age Concern Morgannwg, the charity seeks to achieve the best quality of life for older people in the region.
Barnardos CymruBarnardo’s believes in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour.
We believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child.
We do this because we believe that every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to fulfil their potential.
We use the knowledge gained from our direct work with children to campaign for better childcare policy and to champion the rights of every child.
With the right help, committed support and a little belief, even the most vulnerable children can turn their lives around. Barnardo’s is regulated by the Charity Commission. Being a registered charity means that we must always be accountable and transparent.
Care and Repair TorfaenCare & Repair Torfaen aims to enable older and disabled people residing within Torfaen to stay in their own home with increased comfort, warmth and security. This is done by either arranging repairs or adaptations to be carried out to homes or advising on such works.
Care & Repair Cymru is the national body that actively works to ensure that all older people have homes that are safe, secure and appropriate to their needs. This is achieved by listening to the needs and desires of older people and articulating this information to policy makers at the National Assembly for Wales. Care & Repair Cymru is able to access the needs of older people through the all Wales coverage of local Care & Repair Agencies.
Care & Repair Cymru ensures support to Care & Repair Agencies through a good practice and policy framework, that focuses on the housing, health and social care needs of older people.
